Our school FDR is an international school and we have a significant portion of students from outside Peru. Unfortunately there aren't many clubs or activities that relates to the diversity of cultures in our school. We, KIC, aim to raise awareness of the diversity of cultures in our school and to carry out wonderful intercultural activities!

How did we start?

2011 - The beginning

There were a bunch of Korean students that wanted to have a voice at school and to shed light on the Korean population in our school (not to mention, there is a large Korean community). They wanted to spread out the Korean culture.

2012 - Action

KIC started carrying out fun activities that no club has ever done before. The biggest one was the Korean food sale! They did a Korean food sale at school and KIC started to be noticed.

2013 - MORE action

Now KIC is known at school. Yet it isn't famous. So KIC now started more fun events, such as Pepero day and the Spicy food contest! These also are events that nobody has done before. Lots of people participated and started asking about the Korean culture.

2014 - Present

And now we opened up to other cultures. Thailand, China, Japan, Brazil, Peru, USA.. Now it is INTERNATIONAL! We did an International Snack Sale and it was very successful. We also did lots of more events! Check out the "LATEST EVENTS" page for more information.

Do I have to speak Korean to join KIC?

You definitely should. Just kidding. No you don't.

Do I have to be Korean to join?

There is a reason we are Korean INTERNATIONAL club. Anyone is welcomed!

When do we meet?

We meet on Mondays during lunch in Mr. Scoular's room. The meetings always start at 1:15 so don't be late!

How do I join?

Please go to the Contacts page and send a mail before coming to the meeting, saying that you want to join, and then you come to the meeting, that's it! Simple and easy.

What skills do I need to join?

You need to be open-minded. You must know how to accept other cultures that you might not be familiar with. You also need to be committed to come to the meetings on time!

What part of CAS does KIC support?

We support all three, creativity, action and service!
